Cary Medical Management (CMM), a leader in transforming traditional primary care into tech-enabled, value-based care clinics, reported that its main clinic, Generations Family Practice, significantly outperformed target-spending for its UnitedHealthcare insured population last year. This resulted in savings of $1,378 per patient annually, doubling savings compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic. On average, CMM clinics achieved 21.75% savings, far surpassing the 5.6% national average.

Much of these savings are attributed to CMM's innovative use of technology and North Carolina's state Health Information Exchange, NC HealthConnex. The technology identifies missing clinical information, reduces hospital readmissions using real-time discharge summaries, and identifies interacting chronic conditions, allowing for improved patient care.
